The load of iridium 192 was found abandoned on a street a few miles from where the truck was stolen in an industrial Mexico City suburb.

You’ve all heard of tidal waves, or Tsunamis. As a matter of fact, a very small one, about 7 inches high, hit the Aleutian islands in the West of Alaska a week or so ago. You might even know that most are caused by earthquakes, but what causes the most powerful ones? A certain type of tremor known as a slow earthquake.

Few people go through their lives without developing some growths on their skin, but how can you, as a caregiver, tell which growths or moles are benign and can be left alone and which might be cancerous and need removal?

In the last few months, I’ve noticed that we have had a wave of possible candidates for the next great pandemic. Ebola virus, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, drug-resistant Tuberculosis, Influenza, and various other diseases can cause large numbers of deaths in susceptible populations. Many of the victims will come from members of the medical community who honor their oaths to care for the sick. It stands to reason, therefore, that few medically trained individuals will be left to serve a group or community in a prolonged outbreak of a contagious disease.
