Winter is coming, Prepare Wisely!
Winter is coming, Prepare Wisely!
Host: James Walton “I Am Liberty”
The days are getting shorter and here in Virginia the humidity is beginning to wane. This means different things to different people. Some of us love the holidays and the cold weather. I love the former but hate the latter. This could also mean there are lengthy checklists of things to prepare for depending on your location in the country.
Fall through winter presents very unique situations and opportunities for those of us looking to get prepared. The best use for your time is creating plans and goals for next year. So many of us go into every year with a mental list of really cool things we’d like to do or be a part of. The problem is the world impedes on that mental list and you never get any of it done.
The wood should be cut and cured but maybe you are cutting next years. Still there are so many things that could be going in either to prepare for the cold or to test you through a harsh winter. Of course some of this takes a bit of imagination. If your whole stockpile of canned fruit preserve goes moldy you can go to the store and buy more. Still, this is the time to find out where you are screwing up.
What I would like to talk about tonight is how to best use your time through the miserable winter. You can stew in front of the television for 3-5 months depending on what winter means for you. Winter is terrible and especially after the holidays. It’s a great time to take care of those things that go to the wayside when there is a brilliant sun outside.
Gardening, cleaning weapons, planning, money making, learning, and so much more can be taken care of by the time the first warm spring weather blows into town.
