On this episode of the 7 P’s of Survival radio we have Tyler Anderson back on the show to talk about wilderness search and rescue. You may remember Tyler from the two shows he was on here last year. We talked about Mountaineering and Caving. He comes from a first response background much like myself. Both of us have become increasingly more active in the Mountaineering, Caving and Wilderness Search & Rescue.

Earlier this month Tyler summited Mount Rainier unassisted on his first attempt and has future plans for a variety of other peeks across north America. This particular trip got him to contemplating search and rescue and how different the effort would be in a mountain environment. Also as opposed to the eastern woodlands where we have most of our technical rescue experience.

During this show we talk about a wide variety of search and rescue
related topics. A primer/introduction to search and rescue, a search and rescue kit, self rescue, technology for search and rescue. We also discuss how specialty rescue plays into wilderness search and rescue, map reading tips and tricks, communications for major rescues, volunteer opportunities in search and rescue.

Technical rescue is a passion of both of ours so there is a ton of information, war stories and fun to be had during this show and we hope it will be as enjoyable for you as It was for us just to talk about the subject.
