Now it came to pass in the 14th year of King has a Kaia that’s Sennacherib King of a Syria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them. Then the King of a serious sent the Reb Shakka with a great army from leakage to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem. And he stood by the aqueduct from the upper pool on the highway to the Fuller’s field and Eliana and the son of Hilkiah who was over the household Shevon of the scribe and JOA. The son of ASAP, the recorder came out to him. Then the Reb Shaq has said to them say now to Hezekiah, thus says the great King, the King of a Syria, what confidence is this in which you trust?
0 (39s):
I say you speak of having plans and power for war, but they are mere words now in whom do you trust that you rebel against me? Look, you are trusting in the staff of this broken Reed, Egypt on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and Pierce it. So is Pharaoh King of Egypt to all who trust in him. But if you say to me, we trust in the Lord, our God, is it not? He who’s high places. And who’s alters has a Kaia has taken away and said to Judah and Jerusalem, you shall worship before this altar.
0 (1m 12s):
Now, therefore I urge you give a pledge to my master, the King of Syria. And I will give you 2000 horses. If you are able on your part to put riders on them, how then will you repel one captain of the least of my masters servants and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and horsemen. Have I now come up without the Lord against this land to destroy it. The Lord said to me, go up against this land and destroy it then
0 (1m 49s):
But the rabbi Shaq has said has my master sent me to your master, into you to speak these words and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat and drink their own waste with you. Then the rabbi Shaq has stood and called out with a loud voice in Hebrew and said, here are the words of the great King. The King of Assyria, thus says the King do not let Hezekiah deceive you for. He will not be able to deliver you nor let has a Kiah make you trust in the Lord saying the Lord will surely deliver us. The city will not be given into the hand of the King of Assyria.
0 (2m 20s):
Do not listen to Hezekiah for thus says the King of Assyria, make peace with me, buy a present and come out to me. And every one of you eat from his own vine and everyone from his own fig tree. And every one of you drink the waters of his own cistern until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread in vineyards, beware, lest Hezekiah persuade you saying the Lord will deliver us, has any one of the gods of the nations delivered its land from the hand of the King of the Syria, where the gods of Haymoth and our pad where the gods of Sefaria William indeed, have they delivered some area for my hand, who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their countries from my hand that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand, but they held their peace and answered him.
0 (3m 12s):
Not a word for the King’s commandment was do not answer him. Then Eliana and the son of Hilkiah who was over the household, Shevana scribe and JOA. The son of ASAP, the recorder came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn and told him the words of the rep Shakka. And so it was when King has a Kaia heard it, the, his clothes covered himself with sack cloth and went into the house of the Lord. Then he sent
0 (3m 44s):
And they said to him, thus says, has a Kiah. This day is a day of trouble and rebuke and blasphemy for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth. It may be that the Lord, your God will hear the words of the rep Shakka, whom his master, the King of a Syria has sent to reproach the living God, and will reboot the words, which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left. So the servants of King has a Kaia, came to Isaiah. And as I have said to them, thus, you shall say to your masters, thus says the Lord do not, not be afraid of the words which you have heard with which the servants of the King of Assyria have.
0 (4m 25s):
Blasphemed me. Surely I will send a spirit upon him and he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land. And I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land. Then the ramshackle returned and found the King of Assyria warring against the lib Ana for he heard that he had departed from Lake ish and the King heard concerning TIR haka, King of Ethiopia. He has come out to make more with you. So when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah saying, thus, you shall speak to Hezekiah King of Judah saying, do not let your God.
0 (4m 56s):
And whom you trust deceive you saying Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the King of a Syria. Look, you have heard what the Kings of Syria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them. And shall you be delivered? Have the gods of the nations delivered those who my fathers have destroyed goes in and Heron and rev and the people of Eden who were into Lasser. Where’s the King of hammock, the King of Arpad and the King of the city of Sefaria. I am Hannah and I’veh and Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it.
0 (5m 26s):
And Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord and spread it before the Lord. Then Hezekiah prayed to the Lord saying, Oh Lord of hosts, God of Israel, the one who dwells between the cherubim. You are God, you alone of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth incline your ear. Oh Lord, in here, open your eyes. Oh Lord. And see, and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living. God, truly Lord, the Kings of a Syria have laid waste all the nations and their lands.
0 (5m 59s):
And if cast their gods into the fire for, they were not gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood, and stone, therefore they destroyed them. Now, therefore O Lord, our God save us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the Lord to you alone. Then Isaiah, the son of Amos sent to Hezekiah saying, thus says the Lord, God of Israel, because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib King of a Syria. This is the word which the Lord has spoken concerning him.
0 (6m 31s):
The Virgin, the daughter of Zion has despised. You laughed you to scorn. The daughter of Jerusalem is shaking her head behind your back, whom have you reproached. And blasphemed against whom have you raised your voice and lifted up your eyes on high against the Holy one of Israel by your servants, you have reproached the Lord and said by the multitude of my chariots, I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the limits of Lebanon. I will cut down. It’s tall Cedars and it’s choice, Cypress trees. I will enter. It’s far this tight to it’s fruitful forest. I have dug and drunk water.
0 (7m 2s):
And with the souls of my feet, I’ve dried up all the Brooks of defense. Did you not hear long ago? How I made it from ancient times that I formed it. Now I have brought it to pass that you should be for crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins. Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were as the grass of the field and the green herb and the grass of the house tops and green blighted before it has grown. But I know your dwelling place.
0 (7m 32s):
You’re going out and you’re coming in and your rage against me because your rage against me and your tumbled have come up to my years. Therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridal in your lips. And I will turn you back by the way, which you came, this shall be assigned to you. You shall eat this year, such as grows of itself. And the second year, what Springs from the same, also in the third year. So in replant vineyards need the fruit of them and the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again, take root downward and bear fruit upward for out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant.
0 (8m 7s):
And those who escaped from mountain Zion, the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Therefore, this says the Lord concerning the King of the Syria. He saw him not come into this city nor shooting narrow here nor come before it was shield nor build to siege mound against it. By the way that he came by the same shall he return. And he shall not come into this city, says the Lord for, I will defend this city to save it for my own sake. And for my servant David’s sake, then the angel of the Lord went out and killed in the camp of the Assyrians 185,000.
0 (8m 40s):
And when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses all dead. So it’s an acronym King of Syria departed and went away, returned home and remained at Nineveh. Now it came to pass as he was worshiping in the house of rock, his God, that his son to drama lek. And Shariza struck him down with the sword and they escaped into the land of Arafat then sr hadn’t his son reigned in his place. Jesus, in this time of great turmoil, where everyone looking around is confused and many are despondent, and we see threats bold and brave on all sides.
0 (9m 25s):
Making boastful claims about victory boastful claims about what needs to happen and what will happen when we see the enemies of the Lord, raising themselves up and declaring a victory, declaring a conquering of the people of Christ. And we see the body of Christ, isolated balkanized refusing in many situations to come together to unify, to stand against the primary threat, to the kingdom of God in this generation, Lord open our eyes to what needs to happen to what we need to do.
0 (10m 5s):
Give us insight from these chapters in Isaiah, to understand the appropriate re response. And to know that our role should be to wait on you, to press into you and to see this victory. One, to be obedient in this time of great conflict, Lord, you are good. And your mercy endures forever. There are many who love you.
0 (10m 35s):
Many who follow you. Many who obey. And there are many who hate you. Many who flee from you many who despise your great name and Lord, we pray for forgiveness. We repent of failing to represent you properly. And Lord, we cry out to you. Lord, let there be proper freedom for all in this land, my entire life and the lives of so many who are listening have been beset with oppression and corruption and lies and deception and a gradual, and then ever increasing fleeing from your principles, from your word, from the truth, which is you Jesus.
0 (11m 29s):
So Lord strengthen us. Now give us a greater faith than we have ever had in nothing else. Other than your holiness, your worthiness, your faithfulness and your perfection. Jesus, pour out your Holy spirit, transform our hearts. Our lives lead us into repentance and prayer and fasting that we would put aside.
0 (12m 1s):
The things that so easily beset us fully dedicate ourselves to your cause and your kingdom in this generation and go forth with the anointing, but calling the blessing, the gifting and the strength of the Lord, nothing else will do for this land. Nothing else other than a spiritual revival, a massive harvest for your kingdom, Lord, please, please. This is a day of great trouble, a day of loud and tumultuous threats.
0 (12m 37s):
But this is also a day of miraculous breakthrough. A day of dramatic deliverance, a day of the Lord, be glorified in everything that we do Jesus in your name. Amen. As we read through Isaiah 36 and 37, I hope that in between my likely improper pronunciation of these names of the characters and the people, the leaders, and the influencers in this passage, I hope that you picked up on a couple of things.
0 (13m 14s):
The enemies of God came to Hezekiah, a captive kingdom saying we are the real authority over you. You exist at our pleasure and whenever we want, we can take things away from you. Look at what we have done to all of these others. All of these others who have stood in our path who have refused to be ruled. This is the spirit of the age.
0 (13m 47s):
It comes and says boastfully and proudly those who serve the Lord, you do so foolishly you do so in vain. And whenever I want, I will crush you. I will isolate you. I will shame you. I will defame you. I will shift the sands around you until you do not know where you stand. I will throw everything I have against you. And there is nothing that you can do. It’s a threat, a bold threat, a threat than in a secular understanding.
0 (14m 23s):
And even in the power of our own reasoning, we might think carries a great deal of influence. There’s some teeth to it. It’s effective. Threatening people has caused many to bow down to conform, to refuse, to stand, to change their views, to turn into a scenario where they represent different things in public and in private for fear of reprisal. And so the of the age comes and says, we are in charge here.
0 (14m 56s):
We have the power here and whatever we want to do will be done. And don’t think that your God can save. You don’t think that your Lord can deliver you. It’s nonsense. You’re believing in nothing. In fact, worse than nothing. You’re believing in a vain futility of falsehood, a myth of your own invention. We have the truth. We have the power and you are dangerous because you will not go along with our viewpoint.
0 (15m 32s):
And so we will use our power in order to take away any influence, anything sense of safety, any sense of peace that you have, we will burn everything down around you. And then we will come for you directly. We will go up against your land. We will go up against your kingdom. We will go up against your God. And we will destroy everything because we are the ones who are in charge and we deserve to be in charge.
0 (16m 5s):
We know better than you. You are backward, and we are leaving you in the dustbin of history. Don’t say the Lord will surely deliver you. You should listen. Instead to our voice, you should listen. Instead to our threats, you should watch instead what we do, what we will deliver, how we will influence your thinking about your own safety and your own standing. We will make you doubt those around you. We will make you speak in hushed voices.
0 (16m 38s):
We will make you confused and concerned and filled with anxiety and stress and depression. We will squeeze you. We will lay siege to you, and there is nothing you can do about it. In fact, the stronger, your attempt to resist, the more power we will bring down on you, your head. And even if you don’t attempt to resist, even as you go along with us, that’s not going to save you either.
0 (17m 9s):
We are still going to come and take you out of the land, where you are out of your current place, and we’re going to move you to wherever we see fit because we have the power and you are a threat to that power. So ignore your God. Ignore the voice of the Lord and listen to us. Instead, fear us, obey us. Do not even entertain the thought of opposing us, who will deliver you none.
0 (17m 46s):
And what was it? The response from the people of God? What was the response from Hezekiah, the King, the leadership, and what should our response be? Now the first response was to not answer that threat. Instead, first and foremost, to go directly to the Lord. When King has a, keyer heard it.
0 (18m 16s):
When we hear this threat, tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of the Lord. They sought the prophet and they called people to prayer. They called people to intercession. Why? Because they know where their help is going to come from. They know that before the fullness of the battle spiritually can be engaged, that they have to go to the Lord.
0 (18m 49s):
They don’t try and come up with the solution in their own strength. They don’t try to outwit their enemies. They say we are in a terrible situation. Lord, as we look through our natural eyes, this enemy of ours does have significant power and there is no way out, but you Lord have the ultimate power. You Lord are the one who overcomes, who delivers, who sets free you, Oh, Lord are faithful.
0 (19m 23s):
And you will defend your people because you have promised that you would never leave this world without a testimony of who you are and your goodness. You O Lord desire to show your power and to save in this generation. You, Oh, Lord, laugh at the attempts of your enemies. You, Oh, Lord are the mighty one. The Holy one, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Jesus, you are all powerful, incredibly strong, perfectly good.
0 (19m 58s):
An absolutely courageous Lord. We come to you repenting of our half minded attempts to do things for our own sake, to try to defend your kingdom with our own hands, rather than allowing you to defend your kingdom, using our lives and through us, but in such a way that you get the glory because you are Holy and you are worthy.
0 (20m 29s):
And so they go to the Lord and they say, Lord, you know these threats, what should we do? And the word of the Lord returns do not be afraid of the words which you have heard with which the servants of the King of Assyria have. Blasphemed me. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power love, and of a sound mind. We quote this all the time, but how many of us are still fearful?
0 (20m 59s):
Do we really understand the great blast for me? The great apostasy, the great rebellion that is taking place against the Lord in our day and age, there’s a Lord not see it. Does the Lord not take that in? Does he not understand the suffering that this causes and where this would head? If left unchecked, the Lord absolutely understands this.
0 (21m 30s):
And he is telling us, do not be afraid of those threats. The threats are real. They have power. They can impact people’s lives in meaningful ways. But yeah, there is a God who we serve, who is perfectly just who is perfectly righteous. And as we seek him, as we repent, as we dedicate ourselves fully to obeying his word and his will, we won’t walk in fear because we will acknowledge the proper power structure.
0 (22m 11s):
Yes, the enemies of God have power, but have an inferior sword to the omnipotent power that the Lord wields, he will have the final say, not just in eternity, but in this generation as well. So do not be afraid of those words and of those threats. Take them to the Lord. Lord, you have seen what they want to do. So our community you’ve seen what they want to do to your people. You’ve seen what they want to do to our children.
0 (22m 44s):
How long will this go on? How long will these threats and blasphemies be sustained? How long will we go without raising up the kind of cry to heaven that places us in a position to see the deliverance that we need, how long until we acknowledge our utter dependence on God? How long until the Holy spirit moves our hearts to commit ourselves wholeheartedly in obedience to Jesus.
0 (23m 19s):
How long until we hear this word coming down from the Lord, the way it came to Hezekiah saying that the enemy shall not come into the city saying that the weapons of the enemy have been crushed and defeated and countered saying that we will be protected, but not only protected prospered, how long can the pendulum continue to swing in one direction until the Lord steps in? There is no battle plan spiritually that we can come up with that will lead to the outcome that we’re looking for.
0 (23m 57s):
We need a harvest, we need deliverance. We need healing. We need salvation. We need total transformation of our society in order to truly realize the vision of freedom, the vision of blessing, the vision of the kingdom of God brought forth to see people unify, but not under false pretenses to see even our language restored to right order to see insanity, dispelled, it can happen.
0 (24m 35s):
It can happen in an instant. It can happen miraculously, but it’s not going to happen unless we take the battle plan of Hezekiah into our hearts, which is when we hear these threats from the spirit of the age. When we see a full court press, that is demanding, that we abandon the voice of God that we do, that we do not rely upon the Lord, a boast against God, almighty a blasphemy of his character in his power.
0 (25m 17s):
What do we do when we see that? Do we retreat? Do we negotiate? Do we withdraw from the battle? Do we flee? Or do we engage the battle plan of Hezekiah, spiritual nature, fully obedient. We rush to the Lord. We mourn for the state of our country. We cry out over injustice and oppression of all forms.
0 (25m 47s):
We place the threats that are being made against God and his people before his throne, we intercede, we fast, we pray, we press through and the Lord will send a word of victory and victory will be won. And we will see marvelous things, miraculous things that we never even could have imagined because the Lord is able to do exceedingly above anything we could ever think or begin to believe.
0 (26m 17s):
He is great. He is mighty. He is perfect. This is Jesus. Our Lord, our King, our savior, the one who made us the one who made you the one who loves you. The one who wants to have a relationship with you that will be eternally growing in love and blessing and splendor. This is the one who is worthy. This is our King. This is our God. And his power is never extinguished for too long.
0 (26m 49s):
We have retreated for too long. We have felt overly comfortable, and now a threat arises. And the biblical paradigm, we have one response. And the response is that Hezekiah battle plan. Watch what the Lord will do. If we will in unison, all of the disparate factions and the balkanized structures of the Christian sub-communities watch what the Lord will do.
0 (27m 22s):
If we go together to the Lord, presenting the threats that are being made against his kingdom and the boasts that are being made against his name by the spirit of this age. And we repent of our inaction and we cry out for deliverance, the cry of the people, the Lord will be heard. It will be heard, and we will receive another word from God. Do not be afraid of these threats. A word of deliverance, a word of freedom, a word of victory.
0 (27m 59s):
Lord, give us that faith at this time, give us that faith in this generation, give us a faith to believe for these miracles because leaders of different Christian factions, different Christian communities, but all people who love you God, to come together to move in the direction of your throne. With everything we have presenting Lord, the threats of the enemy that are leveled against your people in this generation cleanse us, transform us, heal us, deliver a set us free and use our lives to share and to spread your great miracles.
0 (28m 44s):
You were saving grace and Lord. We pray that you and you alone through your Holy spirit and your power would destroy the works of darkness in this generation and that you would obliterate evil. The evils that have so gripped so many in this land and in this world, Lord, establish your justice, establish your righteousness and establish your power in this time of trial and turmoil.
0 (29m 18s):
We love you. Jesus, open our eyes and give us faith to believe in your almighty power for the glory of your great name. Amen.
