It’s cold outside just about everywhere. Even in Arizona there’s snow in the high desert and here in the Pacific Northwest we have a fair amount of snow in the highlands.

During the warmer months, you may remember our “Dry Run” episode where we broke down our camping scenario to find gaps in our gear, or failures in our planning. Now that winter has rolled around, we felt it would be best to revisit this topic with a vastly different environment. Same location, same gear, 50-60 degrees colder, and in very high wind conditions.

This week on The Next Generation Show, we share our experiences – both successes and failures – of a single winter overnight campout. Using what preps we thought we’d need, we made it work but it wasn’t a pleasure trip by any means.

Listen to this broadcast or download “Dry Run – Winter Edition!” in player below!

Join us as we break down what our biggest failures were – everything from fending off the cold to starting a fire in high winds and near freezing temperatures! This has made us more aware of our own preps and will likely help you along your journey as well! Once again, the significance of a “dry run” proved to be very much worth the time spent.

Also, don’t miss out on our Pint Sized Prepper Project of the week where we demonstrate how you can repurpose some old camping gear to create versatile, lightweight “stuff” sacks that require an often neglected skill set.
