There are many rules to consider when building a Prepper Armory for you and your family. The first rule for a Prepper Armory is simple: “2 is one, and 1 is none!” Repeat after me out loud, “TWO IS ONE, AND ONE IS NONE!!!”. There are many reasons for this, but the primary reason is obvious, it is because your backup weapon will become your ‘spare parts cache’, should you end up needing any spare parts. You definitely will, so being prepared ahead of time is a necessary step. The rule applies to firearms especially, but mags, and optics fall under that rule as well. It also applies to edged tools, medical tools, and tools of all sorts. It also applies to a lot of other items in the Prepper universe, but I digress.

The second rule is one EVERYONE KNOWS: “Keep It Simple Stupid!”. This is a common rule when working on things, building things, and even designing new things. Simplicity makes a huge difference when you’re a Prepper. You have to be sure anyone you’re around can work with, build, or fix the same items you can so that you aren’t the only one who can do that specific task. For example, its is much easier to show someone how to take down and clean a Glock, as opposed to taking down and cleaning a Ruger Mark 1, 2, or 3. So Keep It Simple, Stupid. Maintaining the weaponry you DO get is a HUGE part of keeping your armory in good working order. Cause if your guns won’t run, you’ll have to.
