In this show we will be talking about being prepared in the workplace. We all prepare to protect our families and I would hope that you all carry supplies and a medical kit in your vehicle. I know some of you carry EDC bags, but what all do you carry in your EDC? Excluding firearms and means of protecting yourself, what all do you carry in your EDC and what all situations are you prepared to handle? For the vast majority of us, we spend as much or more time with our coworkers than we do with our own families. Statistically, we are more likely to encounter an emergency at work than at home. So, what are you doing to be prepared around your coworkers?

Do you carry Benadryl in case someone you encounter is having an allergy? Do you carry some kind of tourniquet in case a coffee pot breaks and glass goes everywhere? What about a N95 mask or Emesis bag? Have you ever thought about carrying that or even safety glasses? Do you carry Cyalume light sticks in case your flashlight is out or if you need to help mark a stairwell? If the lights are out and people are panicking, a light source to guide the way in a dark stairwell or hallway could be a life saver.

Are you trained in First Aid, CPR, or some kind of medical knowledge? Do you know what to do if someone faints, hits their head, and has a severe concussion? What about a seizure or diabetic blackout? Do you know how to deal with that? Do you know your companies evacuation routes or have you ever studied the Business Continuity Plan or Disaster Plan? You never know when a person could faint or have a medical emergency. What would you do if a coworker fainted and hit their head on something and was bleeding? What do you do while you are waiting for the EMTs?
