Well regulated militia!

The modern militia movement has been under fire by the media lately, but what the media tends to miss are the following to points:

1) A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
2) In some cases, local militias go through more training than local law enforcement.

Now, before I get any haters out there, let me be clear. I am a fan of our military, and I’m a fan of good cops. Many jurisdictions get a significant amount of training, while others are limited to 50 rounds of ammo per person, per month. Clearly, 50 rounds is not enough to provide sufficient training to ensure a “free state”. That’s where the militia comes in.

In a recent training exercise with the Light Foot Militia, I was quick to see where my strengths and weaknesses were, which was precisely the point of the training. When it came to IMT’s, assaulting, moving, shooting, and communicating, I was pretty solid from the training with a 1st Lieutenant from the Army (as seen in our DVD “Own The Night“). However, one thing became increasingly clear… I was a one trick pony.

On this upcoming edition of The Gun Show, we’ll be talking about more tactics that preppers need to learn, that go beyond what we’ve already discussed. There’s a huge, albeit unrealized, gap between preppers and militia. All militia members are preppers too, whereas not all preppers are equipped and trained to fight. And this is one of my favorite topics.

Owning an AR15, a dozen magazines, and a thousand rounds of ammo is a great start, but nearly useless if you haven’t received tactical training. In what some refer to as “Old Vietnam Tactics,” or “Guerrilla Warfare” we’ll be covering some basics that you and your buddy or team MUST learn. From learning how to cross a danger area (street) safely, to moving as a unit and communicating without radio or talking. It’s just the tip of the spear for the many tactics you’ll need to be equipped with.
