Natural Medicine with Herbal Prepper!
Josh “The 7 P’s Of Survival”
We will have Cat Ellis the Author of Prepper’s Natural Medicine- Lifesaving Herbs, Essential Oils and Natural Remedies for when There Is No Doctor (Buy Your Copy Here: http://amzn.to/1JrRHDv). I got this book a few weeks ago from Ulysses Press and read through it within two days, so to say the least it was an informative and interesting book! In addition to working our way through the book we will cover the top ten medicinal recipes/herbs you should commit to heart, go over where to start in the essential oil world and talk about additional reference materials for identifying these wild medicinal plants and where you can source them if you are not fortunate enough to be able to find them.
Cat’s book is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about the following subjects:
- Put together a home apothecary with the proper ingredients.
- Using herbs and making herbal preparations
- Incorporate essential oils into your preparations.
- Get the right containers and equipment.
- Make a tisane, infusion and decoction and know when to use them.
- Make a tincture with fresh or dried herbs.
- Utilize infused vinegar and herbal wines in your preparations.
- How to infuse honey and oils.
- AND Make a salve, lotion and cream.
After chapter two and three (stocking the home apothecary and basic skills) you will be set for just about any medical emergency that may arise. Chapter 3- Material Medica then digs deep in to recipes you can use for a given ailment where chapter 5 covers Herbal first aid kits and chapter six covers everyday natural medicine. Anyone that is interested in herbs, alternative medicine, and self-reliance will find the instructions and recipes found in Prepper’s Natural Medicine invaluable.

Thank you for reminding me about “Prepper’s Natural Medicine”. I don’t have a copy of that on my bookshelf yet, but the year is young! 😉 I just found your podcast, Is it on google play? That’s where I listen to most of my podcasts and wanted to add you to my list! Don’t forget to look for other good books on how to use the medicinal herbs you find and how to harvest them properly! My household forages and wildcrafts many herbs and spices all season long. Most of the herbs we gather are processed into tinctures, salves, and syrups. Some we hang dry to dehydrate, then store in sealed glass mason jars in a large cabinet designed to keep out light just for our herbs! We have now taken to gathering good old dollar tree spices and things like that every time we go to town to grocery shop! Pepper, salt, and garlic powder being among the chief of these. We are in Oregon, Lane County, and there are quite a lot of trees here that provide some interesting healing properties! My mom just bought me a book for my birthday last October (I turned 44), “The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies” by Claude Davis and Nicole Apelian. check it out here: https://bit.ly/2rlY0tC ,I loved it and immediate bought three copies for Christmas presents! I immediately noticed a superfood tree listed in its pages that I know for a fact has been quietly making its way into many American backyards! If you can spot this peaceful invader he’ll provide you with food (all parts are edible), water (it can purify it), more protein and calcium than milk, four times the iron of spinach and… a LOT more! I planted one in my backyard two years ago and was absolutely blown away by how fast it grew – over 4′ feet in just 2 months. Best of all, this tree already grows in many American backyards, so see if it grows in your own backyard as well.
Wanted to share my good find with y’all!
Joy & Health to you,
Justin Baker
