That is how the old English carol goes. Can you hear it in your head now? The time has come, the season is upon us and consumerism abounds! Along with all the carols and the good wishes come an abundance of advertisements, holiday sales and the old question of “What do you want for Christmas?”.
The reality here is that there may be many among us who are going to feel a real pinch this year, financially or otherwise. Let’s face it, the economy isn’t all rainbows and unicorns, now is it? The act of giving is what we generally associate with the Christmas season, but I think that more often than not the desire to receive may out weigh the desire to give in some cases. Some people are just not going to be in a position to give much of anything. Or that may be what they think. The truth of the matter is, we need to get away from all the gadgets and gizmos and move back to a more simple trend of giving.
This week on the Homestead Honey Hour, join Noreen as she presents some really great options for giving from the heart for the home and in a vein of preparedness. Giving something from your kitchen is always well received, and if you have prepared your food storage properly with things that you love, then you will be well equipped to come up with a number of awesome things to share this time of year. Nary a neighbor will go empty handed when you have a food storage to fall back on in a time of need or a time of giving!
