“Give Me Shelter” – The Next Generation Show

April 20, 2019 Emergency Preparedness Shelters Shows Survival Tips 0

Shelter is huge. Shelter keeps us shielded from harsh weather. Shelter allows us to function at a normal level. Shelter brings the most basic of comforts.

But without it, we are exposed. Vulnerable.

Extreme cold, or extreme heat, combined with either humidity or dry air has potential to significantly reduce our ability to survive. Last week we learned that exposure is one of the leading reasons people who are caught out in the elements fail to survive.

So how is it that sane, well educated, normal people often wind up in the news inches from death or worse? Basic preparedness includes personal protection. But how many of us look beyond the EDC and instead consider our own personal protection from the environment?

This week, we dig deep into the ways you can protect yourself from the most likely threat in a survival scenario: Exposure. We will be exploring some of the methods and tools you can use to fend off exposure no matter where you are, who you are with, or what you are doing. These basic skills may one day save your life or keep you from making a bad decision down the road.

Plus, don’t forget to join us for the Pint-Sized Prepper Project of the Week! This week we explain a simple way to keep warm and dry that you can put in a gallon bag and stash under your driver’s seat or in any backpack!
