Tactical Dog TrainingMost of us grew up training our dogs the basics – sit, stay, lay down. These basics help to establish the acceptable behaviors that we allow in our homes and around guests, and general respect between dog and handler. But as we grow familiar and busy, the puppy stage wears off, and the commands tend to stop with these basics.

But why stop at the mundane when you could have a rock star at your side capable of keen tactical awareness skills, tracking, food or water detection, covert movement, hunting, and general protection? The ability to sit, stay, or down a dog is critical, but most dogs want to work. They want to be active and participate in just about every move we make. So why not put this drive to use?

This week on The Next Generation Show, we will be going beyond dog obedience skills and relaying some of the best tactical training tips we could get our paws on and some of our experiences putting these techniques to the test. Whether you want to be able to fire a gun without spooking your pet or making sure they retrieve, track, or detect the way you want, look no further. We’ve set out to do most of the work for you and will have resources and benefits of this kind of training during the show.

Remember – any dog can serve as a tactical advantage if trained properly. From a small terrier to a large mastiff, a dog of any size with any disposition or any breed can serve a critical role in the safety, security and well-being of your family.

Also, don’t miss out on the Pint Sized Prepper Project of the Week where we show you how to make some very loud clicker trainers made of everyday materials that can also be used for survival and dog training.
