Cowboy Survival Skills that Ruled the West with The Next Generation Show
The old west was a romantic, desolate, violent place. It was a world without rule of law outside the borders of what few small communities spotted the landscape. Life then is what people today may consider the end of the world – no electricity, no running water, scarce food, barren landscapes, impossible terrain, vigilante justice.
So who survived in the end? Cowboys.
Aside from the romantic or movie representations of the Cowboy, there’s a marked truth behind the myths. These legendary men had to survive in all types of weather, navigate terrain, and survive with the gear on their horses. They faced constant threats from both humanity and mother nature.
This week on The Next Generation, we’ll be pointing out a few of the survival skills used in the Old West and why it’s important to remember. Some of these skills or revolutionary advancements are still in use today – and for good reason!
Also, don’t miss out on the Pint Sized Prepper Project of the Week where we demonstrate a simple, but effective cowboy bedroll that can be used for winter time sleeping conditions in almost any environment.
