Bloodshed, shootings, cuttings, hackings, its just another day in America. Movie theaters, schools, malls and other public places are becoming shooting ranges. Its a frightening truth that today in America you better know about the people around you and the settings. You also better understand that at any moment a crowd and can erupt. I know this sounds a little over the top but ask yourself, ‘have you been in a large group setting in the public where you felt completely safe?”

There is a very important tool you have to have in your toolkit today. Situation awareness could be the most important skill to have in America today. Situation awareness is not just about surviving a shooter situation. It can also make your life much easier by understanding what’s happening around you. Leaving events a little earlier when you see the show coming to an end or picking the proper parking spots, closer to exits, are two great examples.

Still, today in America and in the future you will want to be very aware of the people and situations around you. Its very American to believe in invincibility and to joke about the crumbling culture and society. From the outside looking in its frightening. Reminiscent of flightless bird being stalked by a predator and it simply playing dead. These issues don’t become real issues to people until they or someone they know are the ones caught in a crossfire. Don’t get caught.
