We’re Not Alone?

When it comes to Alien life, even the brilliant Stephen Hawking believes in them. “To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational,” he said, “The real challenge is working out what aliens might actually be like. We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach. If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the American Indians.”

While after reading what he thinks, we may resound with an, “Oh snap!” or pretty much chalk him up to a nutcase, but I think he’s too smart to dismiss.

With the universe so vast, can we so arrogantly believe that we are alone? Alien can be anything from giant lizard like creatures, humanoids, or a bacteria such as in Andromeda Strain. What would an invasion entail? Destruction, peaceful cohabitation, are they already here?

This week on Apocalypse Nana we examine the possibilities of aliens and an alien invasion.

With us, making his first appearance is David Salkin. David has been called a Renaissance Man. He’s an author, a Master Graduate Gemologist and the Mayor of Freehold Township, NJ. His eighth novel, and first hard cover, called Hard Carbon, is due out on September 30th. We’ll be sure to grill David on his Emergency readiness for alien invasion.

Speaking of Aliens, we asked David what he thought about the prospect of aliens. He said, “The universe is fascinating. Both outer AND inner space have always intrigued me. While I’m not sure I accept the “alien abduction stories” as fact, I do believe that there must be other forms of life in the universe. When I was doing research for Deep Black Sea, the examples of parasitic organisms, bacteria and bizarre sea creatures proved to me that just because humans can’t survive certain environments, it doesn’t mean other life forms can’t. The sheer magnitude of the universe compels me to believe that there are other worlds out there that must thrive with some type of life.”

Back for the torment is Space guy and Lawman himself, Andrew Wehrlen. Andy is a former Marine who served in the 1991 Gulf War and has been in local law enforcement for the past 14 years. He started ABW Voice Overs (abwvoiceovers.com) in 2012 and has since narrated some 30+ books part time and has written two of his own, a sci-fi adventure trilogy called The Portal’s Light. He is a novice prepper who believes something is coming down the pike and it’s better to somewhat ready than somewhat unprepared and dead! He lives in Northern VA with his wife and two kids.

When we asked him about his thoughts on aliens, he said, “Read my book. I believe that Stephen Hawking is not only right, but will be considered the next Nostradamus of our time. He sees it, speaks it, predicts it. I’m ready.”

This week’s cohost is the infamous, RW Clinger. RW has some handy, dandy trivia and surprisingly, he believes the least that there would be a deadly alien invasion. RW said, “Look, I really don’t think they flew 90 billion light years to come down here and start a fight. Get all rowdy. No .. wait, that was what Will Smith said in Independence Day. My bad.”

However we think, however you think. One thing is for sure … the show will be a blast.
